By setting the mug to “warm” (130 degrees), “hot” (140 degrees) or “piping” (150 degrees), the Nextmug will keep your beverage at the perfect temperature for hours. It’s super simple: Pour in your favorite hot beverage and set the temperature to “warm” (130 degrees), “hot” (140 degrees) or “piping” (150 degrees), and the Nextmug will ensure that your beverage stays at that temperature for hours. LED lights on the mug indicate your temperature and the battery level. The on-board computer will even turn off the mug automatically when it’s empty or hasn’t been picked up after 2 hours.

Press the Control Button (immediately under the Nextmug logo on the mug) as follows:

• Press once to turn the mug on - this will also set the mug to the “Warm” setting (130 degrees)
• Press twice to turn the mug to the “Hot” setting (140 degrees)
• Press a third time to set to the “Piping” setting (150 degrees)
• Press a fourth time to turn the mug off

This is strictly based on personal preference and may take some experimentation to see exactly where you prefer to drink your hot beverage. Most people tend to prefer their coffee at between 130 degrees (the Nextmug’s “Warm” setting) and 140 degrees (the “hot” setting). However, some people prefer truly hot coffee or tea, so that’s where the 150 degrees “piping” setting should be used. We chose 150 degrees as the highest setting because coffee experts say that drinking your coffee much over 150 degrees causes you to not be able to taste the flavor of the beverage. The best advice is to try your beverage in the Nextmug at different temperature settings and see where your perfect flavor profile is.

We recommend pouring your beverage into the Nextmug at whatever temperature you prefer from your brewing/dispensing device. The Nextmug will then automatically heat or cool your beverage to the precise temperature that you have selected on the mug (warm, hot or piping) and then hold the temperature at that level. Microwaving your coffee is frowned upon by many coffee drinkers in that it changes the flavor profile of the coffee…and the Nextmug will eliminate your having to use the microwave to re-heat your beverage. 

The Nextmug will only enhance the taste of your beverage in that it will hold your desired temperature without having to reheat it – which can cause the flavor profile to change.

The Nextmug has been designed to accommodate all types of beverages and contents, so dairy products will taste fine if dispensed into the mug. Please note that if you use dairy products in your coffee (milk, half and half, creamers, etc.), you may experience a “skin” that develops on your coffee after being in the mug for a prolonged period of time. If this happens, it is due to the fat content in the dairy product staying at a high temperature for a long period of time. While there is nothing wrong with this “skin” and it doesn’t affect the taste of your coffee, it can be eliminated by just scooping it off after it forms. We also recommend use of a coffee aerator or “frothing” device to add air to the dairy product – plus it makes the beverage taste great.

A Spill-resistant Lid is included with your Nextmug. Use of the lid is optional. Some people like to use the lid because it cuts down on spills and makes it easier to tote the mug around your home or office. Others don’t like to use a lid because it affects how you interact with sipping your beverage. So…it’s totally up to you if you want to use the lid.

Another benefit of using the lid is that it will keep your beverage warmer for a longer period of time when your mug is not on the Docking Coaster.

If the mug is On, but liquid is not present in the mug, all lights will blink simultaneously for about 10 seconds and then the mug will shut off automatically after 60 seconds.

If the mug is On and liquid is present, the mug will automatically shut off when it has not been moved for 2 hours while docked.

For the mug, hand wash with warm water and soap after every use. Be sure not to submerge the mug in water and be sure the mug is dry before placing it back on the docking coaster. We also recommend occasionally wiping down the docking coaster with a damp cloth. It is important that both the Nextmug and the docking coaster be fully dry when you place the mug on the coaster to avoid corrosion which may affect the connectivity between the two.  

The lid is dishwasher safe. If you notice any discoloration of the silicone ring around your lid, this is due to buildup of coffee and tea residue over time. Simply remove the ring from the lid and hand wash: (1) the ring itself and (2) the grooves the ring fits into on the lid.

No. You should handwash the Nextmug and avoid putting it in the dishwasher because of “smart mug” technology that sits within the mug. The Nextmug should also never be placed in the microwave (there is no reason for it to go in the microwave because the mug will hold the temperature of your beverage, so you won’t have to warm it up).

No. In designing the Nextmug we wanted to make it simple to use. So even though the Nextmug is very smart, there’s no setting up an app on your phone or computer. No passwords, no re-booting and no security concerns. You’ll be using your Nextmug within a minute of taking it out of the box, and it takes only seconds to set the mug to your perfect temperature every time you use it.

Warranty is non-transferable. Nextmug is a product of Nextboom, Inc. The Nextmug warranty runs for one (1) year from the date of original purchase from an authorized retailer and applies solely to the original purchaser/user of the Nextmug.  This warranty covers any defects in materials or workmanship, with the exceptions stated below.  The warranty shall not apply to problems arising from: normal wear; failure to adhere to enclosed operating instructions; accidents (including, but not limited to microwave use); consumables (such as batteries); use with improper voltage or power supply; products missing a proper serial or identification number; products subject to negligence, improper use, maintenance or storage; products damaged by circumstances beyond Nextboom Inc.’s control; loss or damage to removable parts; or products modified (including, but not limited to, modifications through the use of unauthorized parts or attachments) or repaired by anyone other than Nextboom, Inc., or its designee.
